A picnic surprise
Bear packed two cups and a little yellow blanket. “Today is our picnic!” he said. Bear felt happy. Masaya.
Rabbit arrived with a basket covered by a cloth. “What’s inside?” asked Bear. He felt curious. Mausisa.
“You’ll see when we get there,” said Rabbit. Together, they carried their picnic into the garden.
02
The wind
They spread the blanket beneath a shady tree. Then—whoosh! A gust of wind sent their paper decorations tumbling. Bear felt surprised. Nagulat.
His carefully folded paper flower landed in a puddle. “Oh,” he said. “I made that for our picnic.” Bear felt sad. Malungkot. Rabbit sat beside him. “I liked your flower, too.”
03
A tricky corner
Bear tried to spread the blanket again. One corner flipped over. Then another. “This keeps going wrong.” Bear felt frustrated. Naiinis.
Another gust tugged the blanket from his paws. “Stop, wind!” he said. Now Bear felt angry. Galit.
Rabbit waited nearby. “Would you like some help?” Bear paused. “Yes. You hold that corner. I’ll hold this one.”
04
A small brave step
Rustle, rustle. Something moved behind the basket. Rabbit felt scared. Takot. “I don’t know what that is.”
“We can stay right here and look together,” said Bear. Rabbit stayed beside him and took one small peek. She felt brave. Matapang.
A tiny bird hopped into view. “Oh! Hello, little bird,” whispered Rabbit. They watched it hop away.
05
Room for two
The wind softened. Their blanket stayed still. Bear listened to the leaves and rested his paws. He felt calm. Kalmado.
Rabbit lifted the basket cloth. Inside were two little sandwiches and a folded paper flower. “This one is for you,” she said. Rabbit was being loving. Mapagmahal.
“Thank you for the flower—and for helping me,” said Bear. He felt grateful. Mapagpasalamat. They put the flower between their cups.
06
A quiet finish
After lunch, Rabbit gave a small yawn. “I’m ready for a rest.” She felt sleepy. Inaantok.
Bear leaned back against the tree. Rabbit settled beside him. Their picnic hadn’t gone quite as planned. But there was room on the blanket for both friends, and room in their day for all their feelings.

Little feelings, big feelings,
Come and sit with me.
We can talk or simply listen,
Here beneath our tree.
Happy, sad, or feeling brave,
Every day is new.
Bear and Rabbit, side by side,
There is room for you.
Little feelings, big feelings,
You can take your time.
We can share a quiet moment,
Your paw next to mine.
